If you missed the recent AAPEX webinar, "The Future of EVs with the Current Headwinds," below are five key takeaways presented by Akshay Singh, partner, PwC Strategy& (US) Inc.:
EV penetration in the U.S., based on percent share of new vehicles sold, has steadily increased from 2.6% in 2019 to 7.7% in 2023.
Globally, EV sales continue to increase across regions. China is growing the fastest, followed by the U.S.
Overall EV adoption is driven by vehicle economics, model availability, consumer behavior and charging infrastructure. Based on these factors, EV penetration is expected to reach 30-35% by 2030 in the U.S.
Although average vehicle transaction prices in the U.S. have been rising, EVs continue to be 15-20% more expensive than ICE vehicles.
Incumbent OEMs are expected to have launched approximately 1,000 BEV models across the globe by 2030, but there will be many new start-ups as well.
To learn more, watch the webinar, plus make sure to take in the EV Experience at AAPEX and attend the special session, “Joint EV Trends and Outlook Forecast – Annual Update,” presented by PwC Strategy&, the Auto Care Association and MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. The session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m., on the EV Stage, Level 1, The Venetian Expo.
