Associations Presidents Ask: Are You All In?
AAPEX 2021 opened with a resounding message to reinforce the need for a strong, unified industry voice in the continued fight for Right to Repair, including the soon-to-be-introduced federal legislation. The message was part of the State of the Aftermarket presentation on Nov. 2 by Paul McCarthy, president and CEO, Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), and Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. Top Concerns of Buyer Panel
Executives from the leading aftermarket retailers and warehouse distributors took center stage during the AAPEX 2021 Keynote Session on Nov. 2 to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the industry. While panelists covered several issues, they identified the labor shortage and the ongoing battle for Right to Repair as top concerns leading into 2022. Electric Vehicle and E-Commerce Forecasts
Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association, and Paul McCarthy, president and CEO, Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), presented a briefing on electric vehicles and e-commerce and their effects on the aftermarket on Nov. 3. Service and Repair Award Winners
AAPEX recognized recipients of its Service and Repair Awards during the Keynote Session on Nov. 2. Shop Owner of the Year was awarded to Jamie and Eric Carlson, co-owners of Ervine’s Auto Repair & Grand Rapids Hybrid and EV, Grand Rapids, Mich. The AAPEX Technician of the Year award went to Matt Fanslow, lead diagnostician and shop manager, Riverside Automotive, Red Wing, Minn. The AAPEX Service Advisor of the Year was bestowed upon Brittany Schindler, service manager, Rod’s Japanese Auto Care, Bellingham, Wash. For more information, read the AAPEX press release.
