stations are sponsored by MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology, Booth A1845.
The new Exhibitor Best Practices are designed to help make the event more sustainable and include ways to optimize booth design and materials, reduce energy consumption, offset carbon emissions, and use renewable and sustainable materials. AAPEX will also introduce a program to recycle scrap metal left behind at the end of the show, diverting it from landfills.
In addition, exhibiting companies are encouraged to take the Sustainability Pledge, which at last year’s event, resulted in more exhibitors using LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs in their booths, powering down all displays, monitors and booth lighting nightly, and using QR codes for marketing rather than printed material. The new AAPEX Scan, an innovative program to streamline the exchange of information, will also decrease the use of printed material by allowing attendees to easily access detailed product and business information from exhibitors with a quick QR code scan.
The AAPEX 2024 New Product Showcase, located outside of Hall A and B Entrances on Level 2 of The Venetian Expo, will continue to highlight sustainable products with a special notation.
All attendees and exhibitors are invited to the free Sustainabili-Tea (And Coffee) Networking Event hosted by the Auto Care Association and MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., The Venetian Hotel, Titian Ballroom. The event is sponsored by Bosch, Parts Authority and Stellantis, and advance registration is required.
Attendees are encouraged to take simple actions, such as adopting mindful consumption practices during food functions (only taking what will be consumed) to curb waste and lower carbon emissions linked to food production. Additionally, attendees should practice energy conservation by turning off lights when not needed and participating in the hotels' Linen Reuse Programs, contributing to water conservation efforts. For transportation, complimentary shuttles between AAPEX and official hotels will be provided to reduce the event’s carbon footprint.
AAPEX also works with partners and vendors that strive to ensure a greener event. Freeman, a key collaborator, is committed to achieving net zero carbon by 2050 and offset GHG emissions from travel through verified platforms by 21% in 2023. The Venetian Expo, the event's main venue, leads the hospitality industry in the movement to minimize its environmental impact. The LEED-certified property maintains one of the highest recycling rates in Nevada (73%), actively sorting trash to divert 27 types of items that would otherwise end up in landfills. The hotel sources 100% renewable electricity through Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), taking millions of kilowatt-hours “off the grid.”
Caesars Forum, a new AAPEX venue this year, also reduces its environmental footprint through recycling and food donation initiatives.
AAPEX continues its partnership with Honeycomb Strategies, a prominent sustainable event consulting firm, to assess impacts and implement effective strategies for sustainable event management.
This year's event will take place Tuesday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 7, at The Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum in Las Vegas. To sign up, visit Attendee Registration.
